ACCEPTANCE AND COMMITMENT THERAPY (ACT)
Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) is one of the recent mindfulness-based behaviour therapies shown to be effective with a range of mental health issues. ACT gets its’ name from one of its core messages: accept what is out of your personal control, and commit to action that improves and enriches your life. The ACT framework encompasses the following six core principles: Contacting the present moment, defusion, acceptance, the observing self, values and committed action.
